Obituary for Jerome Resch

Jerome “Jiggs” Joseph Resch, age 83, of Birnamwood, Wisconsin, went home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 26, 2019, after an illness, with Ministry Hospice and his family at his side.

He was born on Aug. 5, 1935, in Birnamwood, to the late Charles and Margaret (Keough) Resch, and graduated from Birnamwood High School in 1953. He was united in marriage to Marion Jozwiak, in Hatley, on Jan. 19, 1957. She survives.

Jerome was in the ceramic tile business until his retirement. He loved spending time at his cottage on Pelican Lake for many years; playing and coaching B.A.B.A. baseball in his younger years; hunting in Buffalo County; watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. He was a faithful man and his religion meant a lot to him.

Survivors also include his children, Mike (Sue) Resch of Richmond, Virginia, Pamela Walkowski of Birnamwood, Patrick Resch (special friend Julie) of Duluth, Minnesota, Tamara Resch (special friend Paul) of Green Bay; his grandchildren, Nicole and Amanda Resch, Cory and Ryan Walkowski, Collin, Kyle and Kristin (Sean), Kayla (Craig) and Morgan; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Oliver, Azalia and Conor; brothers, David Resch, Floyd (Gloria) Resch; sisters, Mary Ellen Mackagy and JoAnn Rucinski.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jimmy; and sister, Phyllis Lex.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, St. Philomena Catholic Church in Birnamwood. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Vicente Llagas will officiate.
