Theresa Britz, 81, formerly of Junction City WI, died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care, Wisconsin Rapids, WI where she was a resident for the last 2 ½ years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 20th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation from 9-11a.m. before Mass, at St Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Milladore, WI. Theresa was born December 20, 1934 to Joseph and Johanna (Zywicki) Eron at home, in the Portage County Town of Carson. She was the second oldest of 8 children. She attended grades 1-8 at Lieutenant Mallory School in the Town of Carson. She then attended St Joseph's Academy (vocational school) in Stevens Point, WI for two years until she turned 16. She discontinued her studies, as her help was needed to take care of her younger brothers and sisters and to help on the family farm. She married the love of her life, Anthony (Tony) Britz on October 15th, 1955 at St Bartholomew Catholic Church, Mill Creek. They raised 6 children. She was a Homemaker. Tony passed away June 2000. Theresa was a member of the Mill Creek Club of HCE (Home Community Education) for nearly 50 years. Before a car accident and failing health, Theresa loved to dance, garden, can, sew, quilt, crochet, make dolls and make rag rugs on her loom. She also loved to cook and bake and share her goodies with family and friends. She continued to craft and mend clothing after she moved to Atrium. The Kitchen staff and Activities staff asked for her cooking/baking advice often. She had an infectious warm smile and upbeat attitude. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed because she was loved by many. Theresa is survived by her children: Rosie Britz, Mosinee, Pete&Dilly Britz, Mary&Mark(Whitey)Bushmaker, Jim&Lyn Britz, all of Rudolph, WI, and Sue Britz, Junction City, WI. Her grandchildren: Kyle&Kristin, Josh, Dan and Tiffani. Her great-grandchildren: Olivia, Alexah and Carsen. Her siblings: Henry (Marie) Eron, Chester (Caroline) Eron, Ceil Eron, Evy (Jerry) Suchowski, and Betty Waltenberg. Her siblings by marriage: Barbara Britz, Maury & Judy Britz, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents, 3 infant daughters, son Joe (1996), 2 sisters and their husbands: Agnes & Stanley Schulist and Esther & Ambrose Flees. Her husband's parents: Jonas & Julia Britz. Siblings by marriage: Donny Britz, Lois & Kenny Walker, Niece and Goddaughter: Kathy Boritzke, Nephews: Albin Schulist and Brian Walker. Theresa's family would like to thank the countless people who have loved her and been a special part of her life for her 81 years. We'd like to especially thank all of the wonderful staff members at Atrium Post Acute Care, who loved and took good care of our Mom/Grandma/GG. You made living away from home bearable. Thank you all for your comforting words, prayers and hugs to us as we grieve the loss of this wonderful lady. We know you loved her and your hearts are heavy like ours. She was our "favorite" too.
