Agnes "Aggie" Esther (Kurth) Pliske, 92, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Copperleaf Assisted Living, Schofield, WI under the care of Aspirus Hospice Care.

She was born on December 29, 1932, the third of four daughters to Esther (Steinbach) and Frank Kurth in Wausau, Wisconsin. She grew up on a dairy farm in Ringle, Wisconsin. She started working at a young age at the Co-op Store, St. Mary's Hospital and then moved into manufacturing jobs at Marathon Rubber, Marathon Battery and finally at Muskegon Piston Ring – Goetzke, where she retired after 25 years.

She met her husband Edward "Eddie" Pliske through a mutual friend at a dance at Colonial Ballroom and were married on August 23, 1952. They enjoyed celebrating their anniversaries with family and friends and did so at 25, 40 and 50 years of marriage. They were blessed with a son Curt Edward, followed by a daughter, Dawn Esther 11 months later. During this time, they build a home together where they lived the majority of their lives. Failing health issues resulted in Aggie now calling Copper Leaf Assisted Living home for over the past 4 years.

Aggie enjoyed spending time "Up North" with Eddie as they fished together and made lots of friends in the Hiawatha Trailer Park in Minocqua. Bowling was also something they enjoyed together with friends. Aggie loved music, listening to many hours of country music and polkas. Of course, her favorite musician was her son, Curt and Dawn got her to many church picnics throughout the years to hear him play. When she was still able, she loved getting out on the dance floor as well.

Her recent years were spent watching TV, especially Nascar, the Packers and the Brewers. You could always find her with a word search book in front of her as well. She enjoyed decorating and celebrating holidays and always made them special for her family.

Aggie is survived by her son, Curt (Lois) Pliske, Hatley, daughter, Dawn (Al) Gilbertson, her grandchildren, Crystal Schulfer, Kevin (Sheila) Pliske, Matthew (Mollie) Gilbertson, and Jonathon Gilbertson. Great—grandchildren Cole Schulfer, Mason Schulfer, Owen Pliske, Marisa Pliske and Adam Brost. She is further survived by sister-in-laws, Joyce Pliske, Alice Nievinski, Delores Knipple and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eddie, her sisters, Freida Hoeppner, Alvina Schreier, and Charlotte Siekierzynski.

The honor of pallbearers goes to Kevin Pliske, Crystal Pliske, Matthew Gilbertson, Jonathon Gilbertson, Cole Schulfer, Mason Schulfer, Owen Pliske, Marisa Pliske and Adam Brost.

Services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Wausau, WI with visitation from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm with the service held at 12:00. She will be rejoined with her husband in the Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, WI.
