Agnes Magdalene Switlick was called home on September 7, 2024. She was born August 07, 1925, in Wausau to John and Mary Beyer. Her love for life, family, and God was unmistakable. At the young age of 14, Aggie stepped up as caregiver for her four younger siblings after the untimely passing of their mother, Mary. In doing so, Aggie sacrificed her chance to attend high school, steadfastly devoting herself to her family.

In early adulthood, Agnes worked at the Wausau Rubber Plant and at Marathon Electric where she met her future husband, John. They were married in 1947 and together built their home on Cherry Street where they lived throughout their lives. They were blessed with caring neighbors – Koenigs, Spatzs and Blaschkas – who kindly kept watch over their home. In their "Parcherville" neighborhood, Aggie was fondly known as "Blondie."

Agnes worked many jobs over the years because she had a deep joy for being active and loved being with people. Her later employers included LoMar Supper Club, BerMar Dress Shop, The Bridal & Formal Shop, and The Wausau Labor Temple. At Forest Park Assisted Living, she served as the Assistant Activities Director until she was 88! Always desiring to help others, Agnes even provided in-home care to many individuals, including her brother-in-law Leo Scutkowski.

Agnes was an original founder and active member of St. Anne's Parish. There she volunteered for many years in St. Anne's Women's Church Circle assisting with fish fries, festivals, funerals, church painting, and cleaning. Over her lifetime, Aggie also hand-crafted beautiful quilts that she would generously give to friends, family, and parents of newborns.

For many years, Agnes was also fortunate to winter in Texas with her loving son, Dennis, who compassionately and patiently cared for her in her widowed years. She enjoyed fishing, card games, bingo, slots, painting projects, and telling jokes.

Agnes is survived by her children Dennis Switlick and Barbara (John) Miller; grandchildren Ethan Miller, Allison Miller, Maria Palma, and Roberto Palma; siblings Lorraine Treu and William Beyer; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband John Switlick; grandson Eric Miller; parents John, Mary, and Ida Beyer; brother Lester Beyer; and sisters Dorothy Rucinski, Ellen Sternberg, Ruth Wanta, Bernice Scutkowski, and Alice Geske.

A celebration of her life will be on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Our Savior's National Catholic Church in Mosinee, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. mass and burial at Restlawn Memorial Park. Assisting the family is John J. Buettgen Funeral Home. Our hearts are incredibly full with such fond memories and gratitude for Aggie's well-lived, 99-year life. Agnes was one of a kind – small, but strong, resourceful, and hard-working. She was a truly selfless, caring, and fun-loving spirit who had an abundant zeal for life. She will be dearly missed by all those privileged enough to have known and loved her.
