Alice Janet Nievinski, 89, of Mosinee died Sunday, June 8th, 2025 at the Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau.

Alice was born to Antone and Hazel (Bentley) Pliskie on May 20th, 1936. Alice grew up on the family farm in Bevent.

On July 14th, 1956, she married Thedore Nievinski, at St. Ladislaus Church in Bevent, Wisconsin. In 1968 they moved to the Mosinee area where they raised their family. Alice and Ted were blessed with six children, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ted and Alice were married for 61 years before Ted passed away.

Alice was affectionately called, "The Queen" by her children. She was a great mother who valued her family and her faith above anything else in the world. Alice was a very hardworking woman who enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, nature and working in her beautiful flower gardens. Her house in Kronenwetter always featured beautiful flower gardens and numerous outdoor ornaments. Alice's "Refrigerator Pickles" were a family delight. She took a great deal of pride in the way her yard and home looked. She enjoyed talking to family and friends on the telephone and watching her favorite TV programs. She especially loved the Green Bay Packers and head football coach Matt La Fleur, along with former Milwaukee Brewer pitcher Josh Hader. Alice had a special talent for remembering birthdays, people and special events. Some said she was better than Google. Alice's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She is preceded in death by her husband Therdore Nievinski, her parents and siblings, Robert, Edward, Evelyn, Virginia, Grace, Anthony, John, and Norman.

Alice is survived by her sister Delores (Pliskie) Knipple, her sister-in-law Joyce (John) Pliskie, her daughters Paula (Mike) Howie, Carla (Don) Kluz; her sons Peter (Laura) Nievinski, Pat Nievinski, Paul Nievinski, and Perry Nievinski. Her grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) Berent, Allison (Justin) Laurenzana, Jenna (Gorman) Richarson, Teddy (Destiny) Steebes, Clint (Lauren) Nievinski, Brett (Leah) Nievinski, Claire (Sean) Williams, and her eight great-grandchildren, Abby Berent, Ivy Laurenzana, Mia Nievinski, Myles Steebes, Alice Steebes, Ally Steebes, Henry Steebes and Leo Steebes.

A heartfelt thank you to Aspirus Healthcare, Rennes Rehabilitation Center and Aspirus Hospice House for providing outstanding care. A special thank you to Father Aaron Becker for the home visits and prayers. The family is extremely grateful and thankful to Pat Nievinski for the years of personal care he gave to his mother.

Visitation will be at 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025 at the St. Paul's Catholic church in Mosinee, Wisconsin. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19th, 2025 at St. Paul's church in Mosinee, Wisconsin.
