Bonnie Rose Meyers 81 of Wausau passed away peacefully Sunday March 9,2025 at Mount View Care Center.
Bonnie was born March 31, 1943, in "The Garden of Eden" Galesville WI to Michael and Marjorie Filkowski. She graduated from Gale Ettrick High School in 1961 as a Valedictorian. After high school she went on to graduating from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1964. She married her best friend and love of her life Dahl Meyers on December 27,1965.
Faith, family, and friends were most important to Bonnie. She and Dahl raised two daughters, Cindy and Cheri and were so proud of them. She dearly loved all her family. They were the most important part of her life – her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved family gatherings spending time with her sister, Terry and brother Jim and family celebrations. Camping in Hatfield WI, with her family, was a highlight of a lifetime. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, crafting, decorating, golfing and bowling.
She was a member of Women's Aglow International for over 30 years and served on the local and North Wisconsin Offices. As well as serving in church groups in Women Ministry, Head of Joy Fellowship and Prayer Chairman. In addition to a successful and joyful career as a Nurse with varying positions for over 50 years. After her retirement she continued to be a caregiver to a lovely elderly lady.
Bonnie is survived by her bother Jim (Kathy) Filkowski, sister Terry (Steve) Nelsen and sister-in-law Rose (Bob) Gayeske. Her daughters Cindy (Scott), Belanger and Cheri Meyers. As well as her grandchildren Alyssa (Nate) Lee, Jenna (Devin) Belanger, Mark (Mariah) Bellanger, Felicia (Matt) Long, Zach (Niki) Brown and Tucker Brown. Along with 11 great grandchildren with 6 located locally and 5 in the Philippines.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dahl, and parents Michael and Marjorie.
Services will be held on Saturday March 22, 2025, at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home in Schofield WI. A visitation will be held from 8:30 am – 9:30 am with a service officiated by Pastor Romine to follow. Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery.
