Colleen J Smiley December 1, 1960 – September 3, 2024
Colleen Jaye Smiley, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024 after a tremendous fight against breast cancer. Colleen was 63 years old. Colleen and her husband Jamie celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on August 19, 2024.
Colleen loved being on the pontoon boat, cooking and being with people. When people met Colleen for the first time, they felt like she was a lifelong friend. Colleen was an eternal optimist, always living with hope and joy with her beautiful smile always present. Unselfish and unassuming, Colleen always put others first. She was grounded in Christ. Even in death her giving ways shown through and she was able to donate her corneas so others will be given the gift of sight.
Colleen is survived by her loving husband, Jamie; children Brianna and Spencer (Mel); grandchildren James, Chad, Lilly and Sully; her mother Charlotte; her brother Colin Stevenson (Jill), her sisters Renee Henning, Penny Garbe (Ray) and Lisa Nachtrab; her niece Tory Walter; nephews Shawn Walter and Connor Stevenson; her in-laws Jim and Karen Smiley and her sister in-law Jodi Smiley; lifelong friends Randy and Michelle Berg; and many, many special friends too numerous to mention.
The visitation for Colleen will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 9:00am until 11:00 am with a Christian Memorial service to follow at St. Peter Lutheran, 1351 Grand Ave Schofield WI, 54476. Pastor Jeffrey Mahnke will be officiating. There will be a luncheon directly following the service in the basement of the church.
Colleen will be buried on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00pm at Northport-Ostrander Cemetery, E8041 CTH-X, Weyauwega, WI 54961.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to one of several organizations that were near and dear to Colleen's heart; Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Children's Wisconsin and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
