Darold Dean Buettner, 87, of Ringle, Wisconsin beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Darold will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at St. Florian's Catholic Church in Hatley. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. before the Mass at the church. The family is being assisted by John J. Buettgen Funeral Home of Schofield.

Darold was born on November 30, 1936 in Shawano to parents Vernon and Vera (Paiser) Buettner. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1954 where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America.

On October 24, 1964 he married the love of his life, Gertrude (Gertie) Dulak at St. Florian's Catholic Church in Hatley. They had four children, Deborah, Dawn, Denise and David. Darold enjoyed bowling; watching Wisconsin sports Packers, Brewers and Badgers; enjoyed taking rides on his four-wheeler through the woods; listening to polka music; trout fishing and caring for

any of his animals especially his beloved cat Whitie. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grand daughter.

In his earlier years, he worked on his parents dairy farm and another neighbor's farm. He worked for Hanz Construction when he moved to the Wausau area. He then worked for Marathon Electric for 32 years as a Die Cast Operator. He owned a hobby farm where he raised beef cattle.

Darold is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gertrude (Dulak); three daughters Deborah Moellendorf of Merrill, Dawn (Adam) Sparr of Wausau, Denise (Bill) White of Ringle; and one son David (Nancy) Buettner of Wausau. Two grandsons, Nolan and Nathan White and three granddaughters Megan (Kasey) Erdman, Brianna and Lindsey Sparr. One great granddaughter,

Clara Erdman. Siblings Donald (Kathy) and Gerald. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. Darold was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law Michael Moellendorf; brothers Edward, Dale and Robert Paiser; sister-in-law Diane.

Darold will be dearly missed by his family and friends but they take comfort in knowing that he went home to be with the Lord. He will be remembered for his mild manner, ability to strike a conversation with anyone he met, his compassion to animals and for being a charmer on the dance floor with his smooth waltz moves.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Darold's name be directed to the Marathon County Humane Society, St. Jude's or a charity of your choice.
