Obituary

David Lee Andrews, 85, passed away on October 6, 2025, surrounded by love.

David was born in Wausau, WI on October 8, 1939, to Edna (Laut) and Roy Andrews.

He completed his elementary education at John Marshall and St. Mary's Catholic Schools and graduated from Newman Catholic High School, Class of 1958.

David graduated with Bachelor of Mathematics and History Degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. He later completed his Master's Degree in mathematics at the University of Wisconsin–Superior.

While studying in Stevens Point, David met and married Patricia VandenLangenberg of Seymour, WI. They were later blessed with three daughters.

David taught mathematics in Wausau at North Central Technical College until his retirement in 1998. After which, he and Patricia wintered in Ocala, FL, and summered at their cottage on Lake Nokomis near Tomahawk, WI. In 2020, the couple returned to live in Weston, WI, until present day.

Over his lifetime, David was an avid all-around athlete and sportsman. He excelled in tennis and especially enjoyed many fall days hunting with his bird dog, Andy. He shared his love of the outdoors and travel with his family during long summer road trips—camping and crisscrossing the United States by station wagon, van, and motorcycle. A better gift was never given.

David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by Patricia, his wife of 63 years; daughters Diane (Jack) Reynolds, Christine (Russell) Rebman, and Kim Fricker; grandchildren Jacob (Jennifer) Albee, Kristopher (Rachel) Rebman, and Samantha Rebman; and great-granddaughter Reese Albee.

The family would like to thank the staff of Pride TLC Weston and Aspirus Hospice for their compassionate and loving care during David's final days.

In his memory, please take a few minutes to sit quietly with David somewhere beautiful.

Visitation will be held at John Buettgen Funeral Home, 948 Grand Ave., Schofield, WI, on Saturday, October 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A private burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
