David Carl Ellis, 62, passed away on Monday April 14th, 2025.

Born on April 21st, 1962, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, David was the son of Lawrence & Nova Ellis. He married Marypat Buettgen in 1993 and worked as an accountant and project manager for The Chicago Tribune for 18 years before working under contract with the Federal Government.

David was a talented and enthusiastic musician who loved to play the tuba for various music organizations including Crystal Lake Community Band, Northwest Symphony, and various tuba ensembles. Volunteered for many years with the Boy Scouts of America, involving campouts with his son & stepson. He had a passion for history & visiting historical sites. He had a deep love and devotion to his family.

He will be missed and is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marypat; Their children Charles (Anna) Ellis, Hannah (Andrew) Koenig and his stepchild Trevor (Jescie) Pullinger; his parents Lawrence & Nova Ellis; eight grandchildren; Siblings Mary (Bryan) Menges & Sarah (Christopher) Carlson; many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be private, reserved for immediate family only.
