Obituary

David Harvey William Glasel Uncle David was born to George and Clara (Prahl) January 27, 1924 and died November 15, 2019, the last surviving of fifteen children.  He was either number eleven or twelve depending on whether Aunt Della, his twin or David came first.  He was proud to have served His country in The United States Army from May 11, 1944 until his honorable discharge on May 10, 1949.  David lived by the laws of The United States Constitution and most importantly the Fourteenth Amendment.  All he ever wanted was for the Wausau City Government Officials to listen what he had to say.He was preceded in death by his parents and fourteen siblings;  Leona (Walter) Treffert, Lloyd Glasel, Verna (Harry) Kalbes, Josephine (Lawrence) Marquis, Melvin (Beatrice) Glasel, Myrtle (George) Richards, Elmira (Oswald) Heinrich, Arline (Earl) Schultz, Gerald (Meta) Glasel, Donald Glasel, Della (Toppie) Curlee, Clarabelle (Edward) Dietsch, Violet (Earl) Westfall and Phyllis (Donald) Holzem. He is survived by thirty-five nieces and nephews. We offer a special thank you to David's tenant, Chris Nesbitt. "Miss me-but Let me go When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little – but not too long And not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared. Miss me-but let me go For this is a journey that we all must take And each must go alone It's all a part of the Master's plan, A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, Go to the friends we know. And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me-but let me go"  Author unknown It is the wishes of David not to have a memorial service.  Any memorials can be directed to The Boys and Girls Club of Wausau.  Specifically, to the children. We are going to miss you Uncle David.
