Obituary

Earl Panko, 74, of Eland, died Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Marshfield Medical Center – Weston. He was born on March 29, 1947, to the late Earl and Oral (Nedel) Panko. Earl graduated from Wittenberg High School. He worked on the family farm and drove a milk truck. His favorite pastimes included working on gas engines and building model cars and trucks. He loved to attend gas engine shows; he was a life member of the North Central Wisconsin Antique Steam & Gas Engine Club. Earl also attended numerous model shows and won numerous awards for his models. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dennis and Arlen; and one sister, Laurel Schumacher. He is survived by two sisters, Patricia (Ken) Beck, Bonners Ferry, ID, and Shirley (Larry) Muska, Fort Atkinson; one brother, Dwight, Eland; sister-in-law Judy Panko, Pearson; brother-in-law James Schumacher, Eland; and cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Eland at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 24. Visitation will be at the church at 10:00.
