Elaine
Harrington
Jun 2, 1943 — Mar 8, 2025
6/2/1941—3/8/25
Elaine Rose Harrington went home to the Lord on March 8, 2025, passing peacefully surrounded by family. A woman of deep faith, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who embodied kindness in every interaction.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Billy Lee Harrington.
To be around Elaine felt like the gentle warmth of the sun. She was filled with the light of God, and that light shone through in the way she loved her family and cared for others.
Together with Bill, she raised their children in Eagle and Waukesha, a journey she felt was a true calling from the Lord. Motherhood was her highest purpose, and she dedicated herself fully to raising her four kids with love. For Elaine, being a mother was more than a responsibility—it was a divine blessing.
Her ability to connect with children was remarkable. With a loving and patient nature, Elaine also ran an in-home daycare where kids thrived. Her nurturing spirit made a lasting impact on many families in the Waukesha community. She lived by the words of Mark 10:14, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
Elaine's greatest joy in retirement was spending time with her children and grandchildren, whether volunteering in their classrooms, sewing by their side, or tending to a garden together. Bill and Elaine never traveled alone—every adventure was shared with their grandkids and family, from exploring national parks to their cherished summers at Afterglow Resort, where laughter and love surrounded them.
Family and faith were the foundation of Elaine's life. An active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waukesha, she continued to find strength in her faith after moving to Wisconsin Rapids, where Good Shepherd Lutheran Church became an important part of her life during her retirement years.
Elaine is survived by her children Shelley Tesnow, Shane Harrington, Shawn (Jenna) Harrington, and Shad (Zina) Harrington; her brother, Page (Barb) Turkoski; grandchildren Emma (Brayden) Alarie, Grant, Julia, Nya, and Lola Harrington; and great-granddaughter Ivy Elaine Alarie. She now rests in eternal peace with her parents, Bruno and Rose Turkoski.
A service celebrating Elaine's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (10611 State Hwy 13 S, Wisconsin Rapids, WI). Visitation for friends and family will begin at 10 a.m.
