Eugene `Gene' Tushkowski, 81, of Schofield passed away on August 22, 2017. He was born in Chicago on September 9, 1935 to parents Ben and Esther (Swedowski) Tushkowski. Gene is survived by two children; Lori (Todd) Rome of Watertown and Mark Tushkowski of Weston. He is also survived by five sisters; Delores Loskot of Wausau, Shirley Ostroski of Schofield, Carol Tushkowski of Wausau, Karen (Matt) Stevenson of Wausau, Christine (Wayne) Leitermann of Rothschild; and one grandchild, Ashley Rome. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Joan Pliskie. Gene served two years as a Military Police Officer in the Army and worked at Drott Manufacturing for over 37 years. He enjoyed traveling, following his favorite sports teams, gardening, reading, and spending time with his family. He was a generous person with a bright smile, bringing happiness to those around him. Services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church on Thursday, August 31, 2017 with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Father Louis Britto will be officiating.
