Helena Flees (79) passed away on January 6, 2026, at Aspirus Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Helena was born in Germany on December 14,1946, to her parents Jozef Kruczek and Stella Krasowska (Kruzek).

Helena cherished her younger years through thick and thin and figured out the ways of life. Later on she married Daniel and became the best wife and mother figure anyone could ask for. When her kids started having kids, she knew there were new little blessings that needed her. She was from then on known as Grammie. After retirement from the D.C Everest School District, she spent most of her time with her grandkids, making sure they were fed and loved. Helena was always family driven and made sure her people were taken care of. From Helena to Mom to eventually Grammie, she handled each role perfectly.

Helena is survived by her husband of 55 years, Daniel Flees, her children and their spouses Mark (Becky) Flees, Scott (Tracy) Flees, and Kristinia (Jeff) Smart, her grandchildren (Jacob, Carleigh, Braeden, Lexie, Daniel, and Paige), her siblings Zofia (Gene) Leszczynski, Stephanie (Erv) Baeseman, and Wally Kruzcek, sister-in-laws Beth Kruzcek, Sr. Mary Xavier, and Karen Flees, brother-in-law Wally (Lynn) Flees, and godchildren Bruce Flees and Tory Kruzcek.. She will also be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews.

Helena was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers John (Peggy) and Rick Kruzek, brother-in-laws Felix (Mary Lou), Eddy (Lucy), and Barney Flees, sister-in-law Terri Kruzcek, and nephew Kevin Leszczynski.

The funeral service is January 16, 2026, from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. with a mass to follow. This will be held at St Florian's Catholic Church on 500 Church Ln, Hatley, WI 54440.
