Jeffrey L Roll, 74, passed away after a brief illness July 31, 2026.

Jeff was one of a kind. His life was not always easy as he faced his share of challenges, but through it all he managed to leave an impression on the people who crossed his path. Jeff maintained many friendships and acquaintances throughout his life and those who knew him best know that he had his moods and that you never quit knew which version of you were going to get. That was simply part of who he was - those who knew him learned to appreciate him for all that he was.

Jeff proudly served in the United States Army. In his younger years he enjoyed playing hockey with Wausau Cyclones, hunting and fishing, where he made memories and friendships. He also won the soap box derby in 1964 with the car he and his dad built.

Jeff lived his life his own way. He wasn't always easy to understand and he was never ordinary. He had a strong, complicated, and sometimes difficult personality. Beneath it all was a man who touched the lives of many friends in ways they will remember.

He is survived by his sister Linda Smith (Dave) of Tennessee, Jamie Warnberg (Tom) of Barron Wi and Carrie Steckbauer (Jeff) of Rib Mountain, Wi.

He was preceded in death by his parents Don and Betty and brother Danny.

Though his life had its struggles his story was his own. May he find the peace that life did not always give him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday August 18th, 2026, at John J Buettgen Funeral Home, 948 Grand Ave, Schofield. Visitation is at 10:00 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
