John Hallas, 93, Mosinee, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019, at Wausau Aspirus Hospital.  John was born on March 7, 1926, on the family farm in Mosinee, son of the late Frank and Mary (Babiarz) Hallas Sr. He was a dairy farmer, truck driver, logger, and was also employed in other outdoor occupations. He was an avid Brewer fan, enjoyed reading, but he got the most joy spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grand kids. Survivors include his wife Frances "Mitzi", children Brian (Linda) Hallas, Lori (Mike) Hintz, Scott (Beth) Hallas, grandchildren Matt(Kathryn) Hallas, Dan Hallas, Cody Hallas, Lindsey Hintz, Travis (Anna) Hintz, Adam Hintz, Matt (Krista) Borth, Dan (Ashley) Borth, and great-grandchildren Liam, Ella, Eliza, Gabriel, Sawyer, Kallie, Jayden, Wynter, and Ely. He was preceded in death by siblings Ed, Bill, Stella, Francis, Steph, Ted Sr, Walter, Wanda, and Frank Jr. Memorial service along with Mass will be held at Our Savior's National Catholic Church, Mosinee, with service led by Fr. Marion Talaga, on Saturday, Oct. 5. Visitation will be at 4:30 with memorial service and Mass at 5:30.
