Obituary

Kay F. Krejci, age 73, was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, on May 27, 1953, to the late Raymond and Jeanette (Smith) Opper. She was called home on August 28, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Kay married her best friend, Kenneth Krejci. Together, they were blessed with 55 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, laughter, and countless memories.

Kay was generous, kind, and thoughtful, always putting the needs of others before her own. She had a caring heart and a giving spirit, along with just enough stubbornness to keep everyone on their toes. She looked forward to the yearly road trip out West and enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. Some of her favorite times were spent on sister trips, getting out on the water to fish, and simply enjoying time with the people she loved.

Family was at the center of Kay's life. She treasured being a mom and grandma, but being a great-grandmother held an especially special place in her heart. For three years, while she was physically able, Kay proudly cared for and watched her two great-grandsons, Briggs and Barrett. The love and bond she shared with them was truly precious and will remain a lasting part of their lives.

Kay is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; her sons, Kenneth (Betsy) and Keith (fiancée Lisa Felch); granddaughter, Elayna (Travis) Baacke; two great-grandsons, Briggs and Barrett; siblings, Karen (John) Otto, Dennis (Lisa) Opper, Sig (Pat) Opper, Clayton (Sherri) Opper, Marsha (Milt) Schultz, and Brian (Donna) Opper; as well as her sister-in-law, Karen Opper.

In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her brothers, Shawn Opper and Raymond Opper.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Northwoods National Cemetery, 4520 Lakewood Road, Harshaw, WI 54529. A celebration of Kay's life will follow at Birch Lake Bar and Resort in Harshaw.
