Obituary for Margaret "Emily" Fochs

Margaret ‘Emily’ Fochs, 83, of Mosinee, died Sunday, December 3rd at Garden Side Crossing wing of North Central Health Care Center. 

Margaret was born in Wausau on September 11th, 1934 to the late Harry and Verna (Brozzo) Trierweiler. At the age of 9, her mother passed away. Her father later married Veronica Nelson and had a blended family of 5 Trierweiler and 5 Nelson children. The extended family has stayed close and continues to have regular family reunions, where Margaret enjoyed visiting with everyone and participating in the ‘white elephant’ auction. 

Margaret married her high school sweetheart, Eugene Fochs, in June of 1954. Together they raised four children and were blessed with 63 years of marriage. They spent many years volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, St. Clare’s Hospital, New Tribes Mission and Camp Gilead in Central Florida, and other mission work in Jamaica, Canada and Brazil. Her habit of doing everything quickly earned Margaret the nickname of ‘Lightning’. 

Margaret is survived by her husband, Eugene, two sons; Jeffrey (Becky), Rib Mountain, Brian (Cheri), Rib Mountain, two daughters; Sherry (Randy) Baars, Rib Mountain, Barbara (Jim) Kiedrowski, Weston, twelve grandchildren; Keith Baars, Jason Baars, Kelly (Aaron) Durr, Jennie (Jeremy) Jirschele, Jeff (Kim) Fochs, Jr, Kevin (Sheri) Fochs, Amanda (Russ) Godleske, Maggie (Jack) Gordon, Jim (Katie) Kiedrowski, Jr, Tyler (Kim) Kiedrowski, Troy Fochs, Haley Fochs, twenty-one great-grandchildren, sister; Rosemary Felch, Wausau, sister and brother in-law’s; Norma Nelson, Jeanette Woodward, Mike Nowak, Eugene Schedler and Ruth Trierweiler. She was preceded in death by five brothers; Harry Trierweiler, Billy Trierweiler, Denny Nelson, Douglas Nelson, “Putt” Nelson, three sisters; Catherine Roeske, Shirley Schedler and Marlene Nowak. 

Margaret was an avid reader and loved solving word puzzles. Her favorite thing was spending time with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren – especially shopping and browsing rummage sales. 

The family would like to express our thanks and gratitude to the caring and compassionate nurses and staff at Garden Side Crossing. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Garden Side Crossing or the Arthritis Foundation. 

Services will be held at Highland Community Church, 1005 N 28th Avenue, Wausau on Thursday, December 7, 2017. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 p.m.Mid Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting family at this time. On line condolences can be made at www.HonorOne.com
