Obituary

Raymond Brzezinski, 96, of Wausau, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born on Dec. 3, 1922, in Bevent to the late Peter and Mary (Wilkowski) Brzezinski. Raymond was first and foremost a "Hard Worker" at his job, welding most of his employed life, and never lost his work ethic after a forced, early retirement. All of his life, a self-sufficient provider for our family, as an excellent gardener (Tomato Specialist) Canning, Freezing and Cooking Fresh Veggies from the massive garden he built, prepared and maintained meticulously (Best Sauer Kraut). He was a very proficient Hunter, Forager (especially Wild Berries & Wild Mushrooms), and Home Butcher "extraordinaire"! He Fished for every type of fish (game & rough) and Hunted (Small and Big game) in WI, Processing, Smoking, Cooking/Canning/Preserving, his harvest for the freezer and root cellar to share with all. His finest trait was acceptance of everyone he met no matter the differences there may have been…he found the good in everyone! There was no one more dedicated to his wife, every minute of every day of his life he relentlessly made our mom his priority! He made a huge difference in the lives of all who knew him! The world surely misses him, and all those like him who have passed. God has truly blessed us with his presence! Survivors include his wife, Grace (Gorski) Brzezinski of Wausau; son, George (Maxine) Brzezinski of Wausau; daughter, Ann (Dennis) Vander Kooy of Ringle; grandchildren, Samantha (Jeff) Knapp, and their children, Ryder and Mason of Plano, Illinois; Kailey (Kyle) Prochaska, and their children, Henry and Vivienne of Middleton; Jeremy Vander Kooy, and his children, Carson and Lilie of Ringle; Matthew (Sandra) Vander Kooy, and their children, Oliva and Evan of Highland Park, Illinois; Melissa (Kelly) Geotsch, and their children, Audry and Caroline of Wausau; and brother, Myron Brzezinski.
