Robert "Bob" Schroeter, age 67, of Schofield, WI, entered into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at his home.

He was born November 19, 1957, in Wisconsin, son of the late Leroy and Margaret (Bintzler) Schroeter. Bob followed in his father's footsteps and built a 37-year career in telecommunications and management working at GTE, which later became Verizon and then Frontier Communications. He was an avid volunteer, spending his time in outreach and with Habitat for Humanity. Bob was a man of many interests, had a loving sense of humor, and deep faith. He loved being outdoors—fishing, camping, hunting, and riding motorcycles were some of his favorite pastimes. He also carried a certain disdain for the Minnesota Vikings and was always quick with a joke.

Bob took great comfort in his relationship with Jesus, reading his Bible daily, and faithfully attending church. His faith brought him great joy, and he rejoiced in the promise of eternal life.

Bob married Jody Tensen in 1983, and together they raised three children. In 2013, he married Lynette Grotjahn.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Margaret Schroeter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lynette Schroeter of Schofield. He is survived by his three children (Jody): Angela Schroeter (Matt) of Chaska, MN, Alex Schroeter (Mary) of Minneapolis, MN, Alicia (Eric) Resch of Hatley, WI and his stepchildren (Lynette): Brittany (Chad) Adams of Wausau, WI, Brent (Erin) Grotjahn of Fond du Lac, WI, Andrew Grotjahn of Wausau, WI.

Bob was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Olivia, Flint, Martin, Elliott, and Claire, and step-grandfather to Kayden, Aiden, Emmy, and Nora.

He is further survived by his brother James (Pam) Schroeter of Tomahawk, WI, and sister Barb Plaza of Minnesota; nephews Jimi Schroeter (Jessica), Nick Plaza (Amanda), and Ryan Plaza; and his stepmother, Luana Schroeter. He is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, his step siblings, extended family members, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 26th from 1:00pm until 3:30pm at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home in Schofield, WI. A private service for immediate family to follow.

Following visitation, the family will host a Celebration of Life for Bob at Bantr in Rothschild, WI from 4:00pm - 7:00pm. Food and drinks will be served. All who knew and loved Bob are welcome to attend and share memories.
