Obituary

Roger R. Juedes, 91, of Brokaw, passed away on February 10, 2025, at Mount View Care Center, under the care of Aspirus Hospice.

Roger was born November 2, 1933, to the late Herman and Anna (Radtke) Juedes. He married Laura (Duranceau) Toivonen, they resided in Brokaw, WI.

Roger was a PROUD Army veteran, serving in Alaska. He worked for Marmet and Hoffer Glass until his retirement. Roger and Laura enjoyed spending time at their trailer in St. Germain and attending the Chicken Drop Bingo.

He was an avid raccoon and deer hunter, he also enjoyed fishing. He enjoyed auctions, loved to play horseshoes and was in several leagues and tournaments around the area. Roger enjoyed gardening and took pride in his grapes and raspberries. Roger could often be found at his favorite store, Menards. He loved to watch the Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Marge (Butch) Josiger; grandchildren, Nancy (Glenn) Peters, Jerry Josiger, and Jenny (Greg) Glovinski; great-grandchildren, Mandy (Keith) Vlietstra, Brittney (Eric) Behrens, Brenton Peters, Gregory Glovinski, Evan Josiger, and Logan Glovinski; and his great-great-granddaughters, Kendyl, Olyvia, and Haylie Vlietstra. He is also survived by Laura's son, Jim Toivonen's children, David (Tair), Dean (Michelle), Dan (Patty), and Nicole and their children. Roger is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Laura; brothers, Elmer, Raymond, Herman, Ralph, Edwin, Floyd, and Walter; sisters, Marion, Arline, Easter, Elnore, and Millie; stepson, Jimmy; and friend Marge Toth.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 930 Edgewood Road, Wausau. Pastor Gail Sowell will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:30 am until the time of services at the church. Military Honors will be given by American Legion Montgomery-Plant-Dudley Post 10 at the church. Burial will follow the services at Restlawn Memorial Park.
