Stephanie "Stef" Pawlak, best known as Nonnie, 94, died on June 30, 2019, at Rennes Health & Rehab Center. She was born on the family farm in Mosinee on September 25, 1924, to the late Frank Sr. and Mary (Babiarz) Hallas. Stephanie married Chester Pawlak on May 18, 1947, in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1996.  She and Chet were the owners of Pawlak Hardware on California Ave, in Chicago, for many years before returning to Mosinee. Upon returning to Mosinee, she cared for the children she loved, as babysitter.  She is survived by family: John (Francis) Hallas, Carol Hallas, Barbara (Robert) Rosine, Peggy (Fred) Raymond, Betty (Gregory) Mondroski, Gene (Jody) Osowski, Robert (Debbie) Osowski, Cindy Happli, Allen (Tina) Osowski, Kim (Michael) Valenta, Tara (Shawn) Leszczynski, Gail Kraus, Gina (Tony) Placido, Shannon (MJ) Zurfluh, Stacey Splendoria, Ben Mondroski, Rachel (Hubble) Manley, Angie Steiger, Gene III (Johnna) Osowski, Kyla Osowski, Michelle (Kameren) Mikul, Paul Krubsack, Ali Happli, Andrea (Daniel Murphy) Happli, Abigail Happli, Dakota (Erin) Osowski, Sierra Osowski, Brittany (Brandon) Vest, McKenzie (Josh Bates) Valenta, and Jasmine Valenta, along with many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by Ed Hallas, Bill (Irene) Hallas, Stella (Henry) Dobrowolski, Francis (Albert) Janik, Ted Sr. (Josey) Hallas, Walter Hallas, Wanda (Gene Sr.) Osowski, Frank Hallas Jr., Gail Osowski, Ronald Osowski, Rhiannon Wiesman, Christopher Kraus, and James Happli Jr.  Memorial services will be held at 11:30 am, on Saturday, July 13th, at John J. Buettgen Funeral Home, 900 Old Highway 51, in Mosinee. Chaplin Mark Lewis will lead prayer. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service.
