Theresa A. Hoffmann, 75, Athens, passed away at hone on February 10th. Theresa Hoffmann (Weiler) was born on January 19, 1945 to William and Edith Weiler. She was one of eight children and grew up on the family farm in the town of Bern, Marathon County. Theresa went to school in Athens and graduated from Athens High School class of 1963. She went to college at UW Eau Claire for teaching. When Theresa got out of college, she started teaching in the Medford and Athens school districts for a couple of years. During this time, she married Edward L. Hoffmann, also of Athens in 1966. After she quit teaching, she ran a dairy farm down the road from her in-laws farm for a few years until circumstances force them to sell the farm and build a house down the road in 1978, Theresa worked for a ginseng farm by marathon for a while, then ran her own organic gardening business for couple years then started working at Phillips Plastics in Medford in 1984 and worked there until she had to quit in 2003, most of that time spent as Team Leader on first shift. Theresa then spent a couple years slinging wood as a chop saw operator at Menzner Lumber in Marathon until she retired in 2005. Even in retirement, she kept herself busy with gardening, painting, woodworking, and whatever other hobbies she found interesting at the time. Theresa also wrote a book about organic gardening.Theresa loved to be outdoors and she was a hard worker. She loved to paint and her favorite artist was Bob Ross. She enjoyed spending time with family and took care of everyone else before herself. She was a great person and a great role model. She is survived by her husband Edward Hoffmann, son Brandon (Lisa) Hoffmann, granddaughter Alicia Hoffmann, grandson William Hoffmann. She is also survived by her father William Weiler, sisters Betty (Dennis) Rasmussen, Judy (David) Ellenbecker, Christine (Craig) Weiler Lang, brothers Ronnie Weiler, Joe (Karen) Weiler, Steve Weiler, Wayne (Cindy) Weiler, nephews Jody Weiler, Bret Murkoswki, Kaiden Weiler, Arron Weiler, nices Tina Nicholds, Kim Fiedenfelds, Carrie Buss, Becky Hoff, Tracy Albrecht, Kandra Karlen, Renee Haines, Tania Davis, Heather Guden, Heidi Brodziski, Breanna Socha, Hazyl Weiler. There will be a celebration of life held on March 7, 2020 at the Johnson Town Hall from 10-4 p.m.
