Virginia Eileen
Krueger
Jun 2, 1942 — May 8, 2025
Virginia Eileen Krueger, 82, of Wausau, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center, Weston, while surrounded by her loving family.
Virginia was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on June 2, 1942, to the late Louis and Pauline (Steinke) Valent. Throughout her working life, she worked as a Clerk for Kresge Department Store, and later for Fleet Farm. However, her greatest job and achievement was raising her two sons, Mike and David. Virginia spent 11 wonderful years with the love of her life, Frank Schmidtbauer, who passed away in 2005.
Virginia was a hard worker, who had perfected the art of procrastinating, often employing the phrase, "Not today." She was the person you could always count on. She would do anything, for anyone, at any time. She loved to spend time in her garden, tending to her flowers, and worked diligently to keep the rabbits out.
Most important to Virginia was her family. She loved spoiling her grandchildren with candy and cookies, often helping them to sneak the good stuff into their pockets to enjoy later. She was so proud of her family and loved spending time with them whenever she could. Virginia's love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Mike, and David (Norleys) Kriesel; grandchildren, Michaela, Alexandra, Andrew, and Lucas Kriesel; sister, Darlene Susec; nieces Kathy and Karen; as well as her sister-in-law, Marie Valent. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Valent.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, 164923 County Road Z, Town of Easton. Pastor John Stransky will officiate. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and hospice for their dedicated care of Virginia.
